SENIOR TECHNICAL MANAGER - RENEWABLE ENERGY

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the technical management, engineering, and solution development of renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and energy storage systems.
• Lead the preparation and review of technical proposals during the tender stage, including system configuration, energy yield analysis, preliminary engineering, technical specifications, and construction planning.
• Develop and optimize technical solutions based on project requirements and local environmental conditions, including typhoons, high temperatures, humidity, and other site-specific factors.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the construction and implementation phases, ensuring compliance with approved designs, technical specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Oversee and provide technical input on equipment selection, including solar modules, inverters, mounting structures, energy storage systems, and other major electrical and mechanical components.
• Conduct or review technical evaluations of suppliers, contractors, and equipment, ensuring that proposed solutions meet project specifications, performance requirements, and applicable standards.
• Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, designers, contractors, EPC teams, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure timely and successful project delivery.
• Ensure that project designs and technical solutions comply with applicable Philippine laws, regulations, grid codes, and regulatory requirements, including relevant requirements of the Department of Energy (DOE) and Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
• Review engineering drawings, technical documents, calculations, specifications, and other project deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
• Provide technical support during project execution, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting, as required.
• Identify potential technical risks and develop appropriate mitigation measures to support project quality, safety, cost, and schedule objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and other technical personnel involved in renewable energy projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferably a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer (PEE) or holder of an equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in renewable energy projects, with significant exposure to large-scale solar, wind, or energy storage projects.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in photovoltaic (PV) system design, energy yield analysis, electrical system design, and renewable energy project development.
• Proven experience in preparing and reviewing technical proposals for tenders, bids, and EPC projects.
• Knowledge of renewable energy construction methods, engineering standards, commissioning, and quality control processes.
• Familiarity with Philippine grid requirements, DOE and ERC regulations, and other applicable local permitting and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in equipment selection, technical specification development, supplier evaluation, and technical due diligence is highly preferred.
• Strong project management, technical leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and work in a project/construction environment as required.
