Senior Technical Network Engineer

I'm currently seeking a Senior Technical Network Engineer for a government opportunity in Canberra, supporting enterprise network operations and major infrastructure modernisation initiatives.

This role is ideal for an experienced network engineer with strong hands-on networking, firewall and network security expertise, looking to contribute to a large-scale enterprise environment.

As this role requires an NV1 security clearance, applicants must be Australian citizens to be considered.

Role closes on the 21st of October, applications received after this date will be used for future roles 

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across LAN/WAN, routing, switching and wireless.
• Manage firewall configurations, network segmentation and secure connectivity.
• Troubleshoot complex network incidents, performance issues and connectivity problems.
• Support Azure and hybrid cloud networking, including secure connections between on-premises and cloud environments.
• Deliver network upgrades, technology refreshes and security remediation activities.
• Work with managed service providers and vendors to ensure reliable network services.
• Develop technical documentation, network designs and implementation plans.

About You

• Strong experience in enterprise network engineering and infrastructure support.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls and network security technologies.
• Solid knowledge of routing, switching, LAN/WAN and secure remote access.
• Exposure to Azure networking, hybrid cloud environments and network modernisation.
• Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder engagement and technical documentation skills.

Experience with Cisco Firepower, Azure Firewall, Azure ExpressRoute, network segmentation or Zero Trust environments will be highly regarded.
