Senior Technical Officer / Technical Officer

Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre Limited (“ABIC”) is collaborative effort coordinated by the University of Hong Kong (HKU) undertaking R&D projects at the Hong Kong Science Park. The aim of the Centre is to develop new and disruptive biomedical instrumentation that will meet the growing needs in medicine and contribute sustainably to human health. Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Technical Officer / Technical Officer (Ref.: H01/2026/031) for innovative research projects in the theme of Advanced Medical Device Components based at the Hong Kong Science Park.

Job Description

·         Ensuring proper implementation of laboratory safety regulations

·         Assisting in the delivery of training to laboratory users

·         Supporting the procurement, operation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment

·         Performing manual handling tasks, such as replacing gas cylinders and waste bottles

·         Coordinating with the safety office on chemical handling, storage, and disposal

·         Performing any other duties as assigned

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline, with strong written and spoken skills in English and Chinese (including Putonghua). They should be self-motivated, responsible, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Attention to detail and a strong safety mindset are essential. Prior experience working in a cleanroom environment is an advantage.
