What they need
The Senior Technical Program Manager – MES & Enterprise Integrations is a strong IT project manager who will lead the MES workstream of a multi-year SAP S/4HANA transformation, owning delivery, budget, vendors, and integrations end to end. Experience with MES or manufacturing technology is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
IT Project and Program Management
- Plan and run complex IT projects from start to finish, managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, and risk.
- Build and maintain project plans, milestones, and critical paths across workstreams, vendors, sites, and releases.
- Run project governance: status reports, risk and issue logs, change control, and steering committee updates.
- Lead cross-functional teams and hold internal teams and vendors accountable for their commitments.
- Use Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid methods as each project requires.
Integration Management
- Oversee end-to-end integrations between ERP and other enterprise applications.
- Work with business teams, IT, and vendors to agree on integration requirements and plans.
- Coordinate connectivity, interface development, and integration readiness throughout each project.
- Act as the main point of contact for all integration work.
- Manage dependencies across applications, sites, releases, and infrastructure so manufacturing keeps running without disruption.
- Own and communicate the multi-year MES roadmap, balancing global standards with justified site needs, business value, and capacity.
Delivery, Testing, and Deployment
- Lead MES and integration readiness through every phase: design, build, system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), validation, cutover, go-live, hypercare, and handover to support.
- Confirm that environments, connectivity, access, monitoring, and test and master data are ready before each testing, cutover, or deployment event.
- Define and manage testing strategies, including integration and smoke testing.
- Keep master and transactional data in sync across systems.
- Track risks, issues, decisions, and regulatory impacts across systems and releases; escalate early and drive issues to closure.
- Maintain environment and deployment plans and resolve conflicts before they affect operations.
Operational Support and Incident Management
- Coordinate the resolution of integration issues that affect operations, testing, or production.
- Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions with IT teams and vendors.
- Monitor integration performance and drive continuous improvement.
Budget and Resource Management
- Build and manage the annual budget for integration activities.
- Track spending against budget and flag variances, risks, and savings opportunities.
- Plan resources for releases, testing cycles, deployments, and post-go-live support.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of IT project or program management experience on large, complex technology projects such as enterprise applications, ERP, or systems integration.
- Proven ownership of scope, schedule, budget, vendors, and teams, with a track record of delivering on time and on budget.
- Strong command of project management methods (Waterfall, Agile, hybrid) and tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or Smartsheet.
- Experience leading large software releases, testing programs, and deployments.
- Experience with ERP platforms and enterprise application integrations.
- Working knowledge of integration technologies such as APIs, middleware, cloud platforms, and data exchange standards.
- Solid understanding of data management and keeping data in sync across systems.
- Ability to lead global and site teams, influence without direct authority, and make clear trade-off decisions.
- Excellent communication and executive stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
- Highly preferred: experience with manufacturing technology, especially MES platforms (for example, Werum PAS-X, Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, or SAP Digital Manufacturing) and their integration with ERP.
- PMP, PgMP, or PRINCE2 certification.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC.
- Experience in regulated industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, or life sciences.
- Knowledge of supply chain applications and processes.
- Experience with digital transformation or ERP modernization programs.
- Familiarity with integration tools such as SAP BTP, AWS, EDI, or API management platforms.
What You'll Bring
- A hands-on project management style that brings structure and predictability to complex delivery.
- Strong leadership and the ability to influence in a matrixed organization.
- A balance of strategic planning and hands-on execution.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- The ability to simplify complex technology choices and build trust with manufacturing and quality leaders.
