What they need
Senior Technical Services Manager - Client Side
City of London | £86,000 + excellent benefits | Permanent
A rare opportunity to take the lead on the technical mobilisation of a landmark new commercial development in a prime City location.
The development spans over 700,000 sq. ft , making this a complex, high-profile environment with the scale and engineering demands to match. With commissioning and occupier fit-outs underway, the successful candidate will have a major role in establishing how the building operates from day one.
The role
As Senior Technical Services Manager, you’ll lead the building’s technical services operation, oversee M&E contracts and engineering performance, and help build and develop the on-site technical team.
Working closely with property and asset management colleagues, occupiers, consultants and service partners, you’ll make sure the building is safe, compliant, reliable and well maintained. You’ll also manage technical works around occupier requirements, support fit-outs and plant shutdowns, and contribute to energy and environmental performance targets.
This is a senior, hands-on position with real responsibility. The building is still being commissioned, so it will suit someone who wants to get involved early, take ownership and help shape a major asset’s technical operation. Experience of this is required.
What we’re looking for
You must have worked as a Technical Services Manager on a building of comparable scale and complexity. Experience on a large, tall building is essential, including a sound understanding of the engineering systems involved.
You’ll also bring:
- A strong track record in technical services and engineering management.
- Experience leading teams and managing M&E contractors and service contracts.
- The ability to oversee commissioning and witness key HVAC systems.
- Experience with tenant fit-outs and managing works in occupied buildings.
- Strong compliance, health and safety, budget management and project management skills.
- NEBOSH, or a comparable health and safety qualification.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Knowledge of energy and environmental standards such as NABERS UK or BREEAM.
An engineering degree is welcome, with HNC/HND qualifications also of interest. Membership of a relevant professional body and experience in fabric or electronic security management would be advantageous.
Salary and benefits
The salary is c. £86,000 , alongside a strong benefits package that includes:
- Company shares
- Private healthcare
- Pension
- Discretionary bonus
Working pattern
The usual pattern is four days on site and one flexible day. During commissioning and mobilisation, the role is expected to be predominantly site-based.
If you’ve already led technical services on a building of this calibre and are ready to take on a major City asset, I’d be keen to speak with you.
