Senior Technical Solutions Engineer

Location: South San Francisco, CA | Hybrid, 3 days onsite

Contract: 6–12 months with potential for conversion

We are seeking a Senior Technical Solutions Engineer with a strong foundation in hands-on software engineering. This is a customer-facing technical role, but at its core, we are looking for a Software Engineer first—someone who is actively coding, understands strong software design and engineering principles, and can troubleshoot complex technical challenges at a deep level.

This individual will work directly with biotechnology and research partners to understand their technical needs and implement solutions. This is not a traditional ticket-based support role; the engineer will be hands-on in the code, troubleshooting issues, adapting or rebuilding solutions when needed, and helping customers achieve the expected outcomes.

The ideal candidate will bring strong Python and software engineering experience, cloud exposure across AWS and/or GCP, and experience with modern DevOps and infrastructure technologies. Candidates must also have experience within healthcare, health data, life sciences, or a closely related environment. Strong communication skills are important, but this role requires significant engineering depth and the ability to remain a hands-on individual contributor.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and troubleshoot production-quality software solutions
• Work hands-on in Python and apply strong software design and engineering principles
• Partner directly with biotechnology and research customers to understand technical challenges and implement solutions
• Work within AWS and/or GCP cloud environments
• Utilize technologies including Terraform/IaC, Docker/containerization, and CI/CD
• Troubleshoot solutions that are not performing as expected and make necessary technical improvements
• Independently own complex technical problems from discovery through implementation

Key Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Strong Python programming and production software development experience
• AWS and/or GCP cloud experience
• Experience with Terraform/IaC, Docker/containerization, CI/CD, and related DevOps technologies
• Experience within healthcare, health data, life sciences, or a related environment
• Strong customer-facing communication and technical problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain highly hands-on in coding, troubleshooting, and solution implementation
