Title : Senior Technical Trainer

Location : San Francisco, CA-Hybrid

Duration: 1+ year Contract

Primary focus : This is a live training/facilitation role, not primarily a curriculum-development position. They will lead technical onboarding cohorts across Architect, Administrator, Developer, Associate Architect and future learning paths.

Ideal background : Technical Trainer, Technical Instructor, Developer Educator, Solutions Engineer or technical professional who has significant experience teaching live professional audiences. However, the manager wants someone who has been in a Solutions Architect, or Principal type role that can dive deep into the technical aspect, while having strong communication/training skills and/or background.

Technical requirement : Needs enough technical depth to confidently teach APIs, software platforms, AI/LLM concepts and hands-on technical labs, including troubleshooting learner issues in real time.

Presentation skills matter heavily : Must be polished in front of a room, command an audience, field technical questions and adjust the explanation/pacing depending on how technical the audience is.

Hiring Manager Notes / Recruiting Lens: The sweet spot is someone who is technical AND an exceptional facilitator . Candidates who have actually stood in front of technical audiences, run live labs/demos, answered technical questions on the fly and taught complex products. AI/LLM/API exposure is a major plus , particularly someone coming from developer education, technical enablement, Solutions Engineering or a similar environment.

Required Qualifications

Professional experience as a Technical Instructor, Technical Trainer, Developer Educator, Solutions Engineer, teaching-focused Engineer , or similar role.

Demonstrated experience delivering live technical training to professional audiences.

Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to confidently teach API-driven products, software platforms, and AI-related technologies .

Exceptional presentation and live facilitation skills, including the ability to command a room, field technical questions, and adjust pacing in real time.

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible explanations for audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.

Comfortable facilitating hands-on labs and troubleshooting learner issues during live sessions.

Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Ability and willingness to travel regularly for scheduled cohort weeks.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience delivering technical training or enablement for GTM, sales, solutions, customer-facing, or other commercially aligned technical teams .

Hands-on familiarity with large language models (LLMs), generative AI products, APIs, or AI development platforms .

Background in instructional design, curriculum development, developer education, or technical enablement.

Experience delivering structured onboarding programs within a rapidly growing technology organization.

Experience working with both highly technical and less technical audiences.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Trainer to support a high-growth AI technology organization’s technical onboarding and enablement programs.

In this role, you will serve as a dedicated instructor for technical onboarding cohorts, delivering engaging, hands-on learning experiences across multiple learning paths, including Architect, Administrator, Developer, and Associate Architect , with additional programs planned.

This is primarily a training delivery and facilitation role . Curriculum and program owners will develop and maintain the training content, while you will own the classroom experience, including live instruction, technical labs, learner engagement, troubleshooting, and real-time adaptation based on audience needs.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical fluency with exceptional live facilitation skills and is comfortable teaching API and AI-related concepts to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver live technical training sessions in in-person and hybrid environments across assigned onboarding and enablement learning paths.

Facilitate hands-on technical labs, exercises, and demonstrations, helping learners work through questions and technical challenges.

Partner with curriculum owners to conduct dry runs ahead of each cohort and refine the delivery approach based on program needs.

Create an engaging classroom experience by adapting pacing, explanations, and facilitation style to different learner backgrounds.

Manage live questions and technical discussions while keeping sessions focused and on schedule.

Collect learner feedback, survey results, and recurring questions and communicate key themes to curriculum and program owners.

Support day-of cohort operations in partnership with the broader program team.

Travel to scheduled cohort locations as needed to support in-person training.
