Senior Technician / Assistant ACMV Engineer

Working Hours: Monday – Friday: 830am - 6pm, Alternate Saturday: 9am – 12pm
Working Location: Queenstown

The Senior Technician/Assistant ACMV Engineer will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of air conditioning, mechanical ventilation, and related building systems for government facilities. This role requires technical expertise in HVAC systems, building management systems, and mechanical equipment to ensure efficient facility operations and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

System Operations & Maintenance

• Oversee daily operations of ACMV systems, building management systems (BMS), cooling towers, chillers, pumps, and associated mechanical equipment.

• Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance and minimize downtime.

• Monitor system parameters and energy consumption to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.

  Technical Advisory & Support

• Provide technical guidance on chiller operations, pump selections, system configurations, and equipment specifications.

• Evaluate system performance and recommend upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency and reliability.

• Support procurement activities by reviewing technical specifications and vendor proposals for mechanical equipment.

  Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all systems comply with government regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system performance data, and equipment warranties.

• Prepare technical reports and documentation for regulatory submissions and audit purposes.

  Budget Management & Cost Control

• Work with Schedule of Rates (SOR) to manage maintenance budgets and control operational costs.

• Evaluate contractor quotations and ensure competitive pricing for maintenance and repair services.

• Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement activities to minimize costs while ensuring system reliability.

  Project Coordination

• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams for major maintenance projects and system upgrades.

• Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and performance requirements.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field
• Relevant experience in ACMV (Air Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation) systems
• Knowledge of chillers, ACMV, BMS, AHU, FCU, cooling towers, and ventilation systems
• Familiar with preventive and corrective maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Knowledge of safety regulations and statutory requirements
• Willing to perform hands-on and physical work when required
• Good communication and teamwork skills
