Senior Technician

Position: Senior Technician

Key responsibilities

• Perform independent installation, configuration, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair, and system recovery with minimal supervision
• Provide onsite technical support for network, VPN, POS, CCTV, communication, electronic, and related systems
• Diagnose and resolve network, hardware, software, communication, and equipment-related issues
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network, VPN, 4G/5G LTE, CCTV, POS, VolP, and related technical systems
• Monitor and support VPN-connected systems across multiple retail outlets, including network connectivity and equipment issues
• Perform network cabling installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting, and fault isolation
• Perform bench repair, testing, and troubleshooting of POS, electronic, and related hardware
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to junior technicians when required
• Maintain proper service and maintenance records for installations, repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance
• Travel to retail outlets and customer sites for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support

Core Technical Requirements:

1. Education & Experience

• Diploma in Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, Networking, or a related field
• Relevant hands-on experience in technical installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision

1. Network & VPN

• Hands-on experience with Cisco or similar routers, switches, VPN routers, and network equipment
• CLI/console-based administration and configuration
• Network troubleshooting, connectivity testing, and fault isolation

1. Network Cabling

• Structured network cabling installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting
• Cable pulling, labeling, testing and fault identification.

1. 4G/5G LTE

• Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of 4G/5G LTE routers and communication equipment.
• AT command-level troubleshooting is an advantage.

1. CCTV

• IP camera installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• NVR/DVR installation and configuration.
• CCTV network cabling, testing, maintenance, and basic fault diagnosis.

1. POS & Electronics

• POS terminal installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Hardware and peripheral troubleshooting.
• Basic electronic circuit troubleshooting and bench repair.

Additional Technical Skills —- Advantage

Experience in any of the following will be an added advantage:

• Omron PLC troubleshooting and basic programming.
• UPS and battery backup systems maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Power generators and backup power systems.
• VoIP, IP keyphone systems, and VolP servers maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Network monitoring systems and multi-site VPN environments.
• Experience supporting multi-site retail or distributed network environments.

Other Requirements

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with customers, colleagues, vendors, and junior

technicians.

• Willing to travel to retail outiets and customer sites when required.
• Willing to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Possess a valid driving license.
• Candidates for the Senior Technician position should have relevant hands-on technical

experience.

Salary: RM2,400 —RM3,200 per month, depending on experience, technical competency, and relevant skills.
