Senior Telecom Design Manager

The Senior Telecom Design Manager will lead and manage telecom design and engineering activities for telecommunications and infrastructure projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, accurate, and compliant engineering designs. The role involves overseeing design teams, reviewing technical deliverables, coordinating with clients and project stakeholders, and ensuring that all engineering activities meet project specifications, applicable standards, quality requirements, and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead and manage telecom design and engineering activities across assigned projects.
• Supervise and guide telecom design engineers, designers, and draughtsmen to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
• Review and approve telecom engineering drawings, fibre optic network layouts, cable routing plans, ODF layouts, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Oversee fibre optic network design, fibre core allocation, structured cabling, and optical transmission systems, including DWDM/OTN where applicable.
• Ensure design outputs comply with client requirements, project specifications, applicable engineering standards, and quality procedures.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, clients, consultants, suppliers, and site teams to resolve technical issues and design queries.
• Manage design schedules, resource allocation, technical reviews, and submission deadlines.
• Review technical submittals, material take-offs, cable schedules, equipment lists, and as-built documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and support during site surveys, installation, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
• Identify design risks, technical conflicts, and opportunities to improve design efficiency and project delivery.
• Ensure proper document control, drawing revisions, and implementation of client comments.
• Promote compliance with company quality procedures and applicable Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.

Qualifications and Experience :

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in telecom design and engineering, preferably with experience managing design teams.
• Proven experience in telecom infrastructure, fibre optic networks, structured cabling, and telecom engineering documentation.
• Experience with AutoCAD and other relevant engineering design tools.
• Strong knowledge of fibre optic network architecture, cable routing, ODF layouts, fibre core allocation, and optical transmission systems.
• Experience in reviewing and approving engineering drawings, technical submittals, and project documentation.
