Senior Test Engineer

Who you are

• 5+ years of experience in embedded software testing, firmware validation, or test systems development
• Demonstrated experience successfully guiding safety-critical projects through the entire UL1998 certification lifecycle, showcasing an intimate knowledge of the standard’s requirements
• Technical proficiency navigating low-level firmware environments, reading embedded architectures, and developing test code using C and Python
• Experience developing hardware test fixtures, instrumentation setups, and integrating physical components with automated test benches
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical engineering deliverables across multi-functional teams

What the job involves

• Form Energy is hiring a Senior Test Engineer to accelerate the validation and safety certification of our multi-day energy storage technology
• This role reports into the manager of the Test Software team
• As part of this team, you will contribute to the development of rigorous test frameworks and safety compliance structures in close collaboration and partnership with our firmware, hardware and compliance teams

• Architect and execute test cases to secure UL1998 certification and to harden bootloaders
• Review firmware implementations, and proactively identify testing optimizations early in the development lifecycle
• Document the linkages between safety requirements and test executions to generate compliance artifacts
