Senior Test Engineer

About the role

The Senior Engineer – MEMS Test is responsible for supporting MEMS production through test process development, failure investigation, data analysis, and continuous process improvement. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Product, Quality, and Customer teams to improve yield, resolve technical issues, and ensure product performance meets customer and business requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and sustain MEMS production test processes to ensure stable manufacturing performance, product quality, and customer requirements.
• Perform on-site failure investigation, analyze test failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyze production yield, test results, and process data to identify trends, improve process capability, and drive yield improvement initiatives.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance test efficiency, reduce defects, improve equipment utilization, and increase manufacturing productivity.
• Support customer quality issues and engineering requests by performing technical investigations, data analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Own and maintain production test equipment, coordinate troubleshooting activities, and work with equipment vendors to improve system reliability and uptime.
• Work closely with Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Reliability, and R&D teams to resolve technical issues and support new product introduction (NPI).
• Prepare and maintain engineering reports, work instructions, process documentation, FMEA, control plans, and engineering change documentation.
• Utilize statistical analysis tools (SPC, DOE, MSA, Cp/Cpk) and structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, Fishbone, 5 Why) to improve manufacturing performance.
• Provide technical guidance and training to technicians and operators to ensure consistent execution of production test processes.

About you

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or a related engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in semiconductors, MEMS, photonics, or electronics manufacturing.
• Experience in production testing, failure analysis, process engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis and statistical problem-solving tools (DOE, SPC, FMEA, MSA).
• Experience with production test equipment and automated manufacturing systems.
• Knowledge of electrical measurements and data analysis tools such as JMP, Minitab, or Python is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience in cleanroom manufacturing environments is preferred.
