Senior Test Engineer

We are working with a government-led initiative focused on environmental sustainability, specifically designing and delivering a secure, long-term digital solution for managing Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) data for significant ecological recovery projects. This effort aims to replace outdated, risky submission processes with a robust, modern system supporting decades of program delivery.

The Role

• Design and deliver a secure, long-term digital solution for collecting, storing, validating, analysing, and reporting MEL data.
• Replace current SharePoint and spreadsheet-based submission processes with robust data management workflows.
• Lead user-centred design and the establishment of a front-end submission tool for external users.
• Define, own, and communicate test strategies aligned to delivery, business risk, and government service standards.
• Select and tailor appropriate test approaches (manual, automated, exploratory, risk-based) for complex systems and integrations.
• Plan, build, and execute non-functional testing activities, including performance, accessibility, security, resilience, and interoperability.

What You'll Need

• Proven expertise in automated testing frameworks like Playwright, Jest, WebdriverIO, or Cypress.
• Strong experience with data validation testing and load/performance testing for bulk uploads.
• Ability to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with open-source JavaScript-based libraries/frameworks for API testing or Postman.
• Experience with tools like Jmeter or K6 for load and performance testing.
• Familiarity with continuous integration pipelines using Jenkins, AWS, or ADO in Azure, and GitHub expertise.
