Senior Test Software Architect

Senior Test Software Architect | Austin (Hybrid) | Up to $220,000

A fast-growing defense technology company working on advanced photonics and optical systems is hiring its first Senior Test Software Architect. You’ll join a newly formed Test & Qualification team before most of its test stations exist, so the architecture you define will be the standard for every program that follows.

What you’ll do

• Own the common test executive framework, instrument driver library, and sequence model, from board-level test through to field instrumentation
• Define the test result schema and data contract
• Own configuration management and release for test software that makes acceptance decisions on flight hardware, including tool qualification
• Set technical standards and mentor test systems engineers, without line management

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience building test or instrumentation software
• Proven ownership of a test framework used across multiple stations or products
• Instrument interfacing and driver development (VISA, SCPI, or equivalent)
• Strong Python, C#, or similar
• Experience in a controlled or regulated environment
• U.S. Person status (required for export control)

Nice to have: DO-330 experience, a background in defense, aerospace, or semiconductors, and photonics or RF test.
