Senior Software Test Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Test Engineer to drive quality across our web-based products and platform capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in manual testing, test strategy, defect management, and Agile delivery practices, along with a solid understanding of networking concepts.

The candidate will work closely with Engineering, Product Management, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality releases by proactively identifying risks, validating requirements, and executing comprehensive test coverage.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Execution

• Analyze product requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to define comprehensive test strategies.
• Design, develop, and execute test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testing of web applications.
• Validate application behavior across browsers, operating systems, and device configurations.
• Ensure complete traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.

Automation & Continuous Testing

• Support and expand automation coverage using established automation frameworks.
• Identify candidates for automation and improve regression testing efficiency.
• Collaborate with automation engineers to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Performance & Reliability Validation

• Validate application performance, responsiveness, and scalability.
• Assist in performance and load testing activities.
• Monitor quality metrics and provide release readiness assessments.

Domain & System Validation

• Validate workflows involving networking and connectivity features.
• Analyze logs, API responses, and system behavior to troubleshoot issues.
• Work with distributed systems and backend services to identify integration issues.

Reporting & Documentation

• Document test results, defects, risks, and release quality metrics.
• Provide clear and concise status updates to stakeholders.
• Maintain testing artifacts and ensure quality documentation is up to date.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Web Application Testing or Software Quality Assurance.
• Strong expertise in manual testing methodologies and defect lifecycle management.
• Experience testing modern web applications and REST APIs.
• Good understanding of:
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Browser Developer Tools
• Client-server architecture
• SQL and database validation
• Experience with defect and test management tools such as:
• JIRA
• Azure DevOps
• TestRail
• Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to test automation using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
• Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration.
• Understanding of Linux environments and command-line tools.
• Good knowledge of networking fundamentals:
• TCP/IP
• HTTP/HTTPS
• DNS
• VPN
• Wireless networking concepts
• Knowledge of satellite communications and wireless technologies:
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Knowledge of security testing concepts and best practices.
