Senior Training Instructor

The Senior Training Instructor develops, delivers, and evaluates in-person and instructor-led virtual training programs supporting DLA Energy Base Level Support Applications (BLSA), including the FuelsAutomation® System (FAS) and related fuel management systems. The instructor provides instructional leadership, maintains curriculum accuracy, and translates complex operational and technical requirements into effective training. Strong communication, organizational, and technical skills are essential to mentoring instructors, coordinating training activities, and supporting customer requirements and operational readiness.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver in-person and instructor-led virtual training on FAS, fuel management business processes, and related systems.
• Lead curriculum development and revisions aligned with system functionality, DLA Energy policies, and operational requirements.
• Develop and review lesson plans, instructor guides, student materials, exercises, and assessments.
• Provide subject matter expertise for training materials, instructional videos, and computer-based training (CBT).
• Mentor instructors to ensure instructional consistency, technical accuracy, and student engagement.
• Coordinate training schedules, course preparation, and resources with internal teams and customers.
• Adhere to American Council on Education (ACE) requirements for approved courses, when applicable.
• Prepare training materials and environments; ensure hardware, software, user access, and connectivity are operational prior to instruction.
• Evaluate student performance, maintain training records, and implement improvements based on course feedback and operational needs.
• Travel domestically and internationally to support customer training requirements.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting military petroleum logistics, fuel management, accounting, quality assurance, distribution, or related operations.
• Minimum three (3) years of formal instructional experience, including curriculum development and student assessment.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience utilizing FAS or other DLA Energy automated fuel management systems.
• Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership, instructor mentoring, and training coordination skills.
• Strong organizational, technical, computer, communication, and presentation skills.
• Active DoD clearance (IT-I Critical Sensitive at a minimum).
• Ability to travel worldwide
• Must work on-site at Coggins HQ, Alexandria, VA.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
