Senior Transmission Planning Engineer

Location: East Coast strongly preferred

Comp: $140,000 to $160,000

Element Six is partnering with a utility-scale developer to bring on a Transmission Planning Engineer for its 10+ GW pipeline.

You’ll own power flow analysis across greenfield and in-queue projects. Your recommendations directly shape which projects the business backs. There’s a real path to grow, with plans to build out the planning team around this hire.

What you’ll be doing?

• Run power flow models on greenfield and in-queue projects. (SPP/MISO.PJM)
• Carry out network upgrade analysis and upgrade cost estimates
• Review RTO models for accuracy and propose changes that reduce project impacts.
• Build scenarios ahead of Cluster Study results so the team can move quickly when Decision Point windows open.
• Analyze Cluster and System Impact Study results and support interconnection applications.
• Be able to turn results into recommendations for the development team and leadership.

What we’re looking for?

• 4+ years in transmission planning or steady-state analysis, ideally at a utility or utilities consultancy.
• Hands-on power flow experience. (TARA is preferred, but PSSE/PSCAD is fine)
• Working knowledge and exposure to either SPP, MISO, or PJM
• Comfortable explaining technical results to non-engineers.
