Senior User Experience Designer

Our client, an autonomous vehicle and mobility technology company, is searching for a UX Designer to join their UX design team in Foster City, CA. In this role, you will build the strategy for human-centered design to shape next-generation autonomous vehicle passenger interactions, focusing specifically on critical pickup and drop-off moments.

You will support human-centered AI challenges, create intuitive, accessible, and delightful experiences that build rider trust and elevate the overall journey. This exciting opportunity to pioneer the future of autonomous mobility begins as a 12-month W2 contract, hybrid on-site in Foster City, CA.

Responsibilities

• Map comprehensive rider flows, scenarios, and interaction models specifically tailored to seamless passenger pickup and dropoff touchpoints.
• Develop intuitive UI concepts and build rapid digital and physical prototypes to facilitate iterative testing and evaluation.
• Conduct continuous usability testing sessions, translating user feedback and behavioral data into clear insights that validate design directions and de-risk decisions.
• Partner cross-functionally with product managers, hardware and software engineers, and researchers to address technical challenges and bring design concepts to life.
• Travel periodically to operational service locations to conduct contextual research, field evaluations, and real-world experience testing.
• Advocate for human-centered design principles and methodologies across the wider organization.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Product Design, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of professional experience in interaction, service, or UX design.
• Demonstrated mastery of modern design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and After Effects for visual expression and motion design.
• Strong background in problem mapping, end-to-end user flow generation, and rapid digital/physical prototyping.
• Experience leveraging modern AI tools to optimize workflows and increase efficiency in the design lifecycle.
• Skilled in using metrics, quantitative data, and qualitative research to extract meaningful user insights.
• Deep user empathy paired with outstanding visual and verbal communication skills.
• A comprehensive portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design, critical thinking, and problem-solving execution.
• Prior experience designing for artificial intelligence or advanced technology products is a plus.
• Demonstrated interest and passion for product inclusivity and accessibility standards is a plus.
