Senior Vegetable Oils Trader

Location: Geneva, Switzerland | Physical Commodities Trading

Ampersand World is recruiting, on behalf of an established international commodity trading company, a Senior Vegetable Oils Trader to join its Geneva-based trading activities.

Our client is seeking an experienced, commercially driven trader with a strong understanding of the physical vegetable oils market and the ability to originate, structure and execute profitable transactions.

This opportunity is particularly suited to a hands-on trader who enjoys developing business, building long-term commercial relationships and taking direct ownership of trading activities.

Your Responsibilities:

• Originate, negotiate and execute physical vegetable oils transactions across international markets.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with producers, suppliers, traders and end-buyers.
• Identify new trading opportunities, markets and commercial flows.
• Manage trading positions and contribute directly to P&L performance.
• Structure and execute back-to-back and other physical trading transactions.
• Coordinate with operations, logistics, finance and risk teams to ensure successful execution.
• Expand the company's commercial network and strengthen its presence in the vegetable oils market.

Your Profile:

• Proven experience in physical vegetable oils trading, ideally covering products such as palm oil, soybean oil, sunflower oil, rapeseed oil or other edible oils.
• Established network of suppliers, producers and/or international buyers.
• Demonstrated ability to originate and execute transactions independently.
• Strong commercial instincts, negotiation skills and understanding of international commodity flows.
• Entrepreneurial, proactive and results-oriented mindset.
• Comfortable operating in a dynamic trading environment with a high degree of autonomy.
• Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Based in Geneva or willing to relocate.
