Senior Ventilation Engineer | Underground Mining | WA FIFO

Lead ventilation strategy. Influence operational performance. Be the technical authority. We're partnering with a well-established underground mining operation seeking a Senior Ventilation Engineer to join their technical services team. This is a key leadership position responsible for developing and implementing ventilation strategies that support safe, efficient, and productive underground operations.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with site leadership, mining engineers, geotechnical teams, and operational stakeholders while mentoring junior engineers and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead all underground ventilation planning and design activities
• Develop and maintain ventilation models and life-of-mine ventilation strategies
• Monitor and optimise airflow, refrigeration, dust and diesel particulate management
• Provide technical guidance to site operations and management teams
• Conduct ventilation surveys and analyse operational performance
• Support mine planning activities and future expansion projects
• Mentor and develop junior ventilation personnel
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety and statutory requirements

About You

• Degree qualified Mining Engineer or relevant engineering discipline
• Extensive underground hard rock mining experience
• Strong ventilation engineering background within underground operations
• Experience using software such as Ventsim and Deswik
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership capability
• First Class Mine Manager's Certificate or Ventilation Officer qualifications highly regarded
