Senior Workday Payroll Analyst - $145,000 + Bonus
We are seeking an experienced Workday Payroll & Benefits Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support and enhance Workday Payroll and benefits-related processes across North America. This role will focus on production configuration, integrations, testing, reconciliation, and issue resolution, helping ensure accurate and timely payroll while maintaining reliable data flows between Workday and third-party systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, maintain, and support Workday Payroll, including earnings, deductions, tax configuration, and relevant federal, state, and provincial requirements across the United States and Canada.
- Provide subject matter expertise for payroll and retirement benefits processes, supporting day-to-day production operations and helping resolve complex system or processing issues.
- Support Workday integrations with third-party and internal systems, including monitoring interfaces, investigating failures, coordinating reprocessing, and reconciling data affecting payroll, banking, garnishments, and retirement benefits.
- Plan and execute testing for approved changes and Workday releases, including regression and parallel testing; validate results and ensure changes are controlled and production-ready.
- Maintain payroll and benefits controls, investigate discrepancies, support mass data loads using EIB or equivalent tools, coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders, and retain clear documentation and audit evidence.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience supporting North American payroll and/or retirement benefits processes, with knowledge of relevant federal, state, provincial, and year-end requirements.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience configuring and supporting Workday Payroll in a live production environment, including testing, reconciliation, and issue resolution.
- Experience with Workday integrations and tools such as EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Workday Studio, or web services, with the ability to monitor, troubleshoot, test, and document changes.
- Strong understanding of payroll controls, data validation, production support, root-cause analysis, and change management in a time-sensitive payroll environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to coordinate across payroll, HR/IT teams, vendors, and regional stakeholders. Workday Payroll certification and Canadian payroll certification (PCP or CPM) are advantageous.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on Workday Payroll and Benefits SME to make a direct impact on the reliability, accuracy, and continuous improvement of business-critical payroll processes. If you bring strong Workday production support experience, sound technical judgment, and a detail-oriented approach to payroll and benefits, we would like to hear from you.
