SEO Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, data-driven SEO Manager to lead and execute our organic search strategy across a portfolio of high-traffic digital media and publishing brands.  

Candidates with publishing experience need only apply . The ideal candidate understands how SEO works in a fast-paced editorial environment and can balance search visibility, traffic growth, content quality, Google Discover performance, and technical SEO . You will work closely with editors, writers, social teams, and senior leadership to identify growth opportunities and turn them into measurable results.  

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies to increase organic traffic, rankings, visibility, and audience growth.
• Lead keyword research, search-intent analysis, topic planning, content optimization, and competitive analysis .
• Optimize editorial content for Google Search, Google Discover, News, and other relevant search surfaces.
• Identify opportunities for evergreen, trending, breaking-news, and high-volume search content .
• Conduct regular technical SEO audits and work with relevant teams to resolve issues affecting crawlability, indexation, site speed, Core Web Vitals, structured data, internal linking, and site architecture.
• Develop and maintain effective internal linking and content-clustering strategies .
• Monitor Google Search Console, Google Analytics/GA4 and other SEO tools to identify trends, issues, and opportunities.
• Track keyword rankings, organic traffic, CTR, impressions, indexing, Discover performance, and other key SEO KPIs.
• Analyze competitors and identify content gaps and opportunities for improved search visibility.
• Work with editorial teams to establish SEO best practices and ensure content is optimized before and after publication.
• Create SEO guidelines, workflows, checklists, and training materials for writers and editors.
• Monitor major Google algorithm updates and recommend appropriate changes to strategy.
• Prepare regular SEO performance reports and communicate actionable insights to management.
• Test and implement new SEO strategies to improve traffic, rankings, engagement, and overall organic performance.
• Collaborate with editorial, product, development, social media, and leadership teams on broader audience-growth initiatives.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on SEO experience , preferably within digital media, publishing, news, entertainment, sports, lifestyle, or other high-volume content environments.
• Strong understanding of Google Search, Google Discover, Google News, and modern editorial SEO .
• Proven track record of growing organic traffic and search visibility.
• Strong knowledge of on-page, off-page, technical, and content SEO .
• Experience with Google Search Console and GA4 .
• Strong keyword research and competitor-analysis skills.
• Understanding of SEO metrics including impressions, CTR, rankings, organic sessions, indexing, crawlability, and conversions.
• Experience with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, Moz, or equivalent platforms .
• Strong understanding of internal linking, canonicalization, redirects, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, schema/structured data, and Core Web Vitals.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with writers, editors, and content teams.
