SEO Specialist & WordPress Developer – Remote

We are looking for an experienced SEO Specialist & WordPress Developer who understands modern SEO, knows how to maximise the use of AI tools to improve rankings, content output, keyword research, and competitor analysis, and can also build, manage, and maintain WordPress websites end-to-end.

The ideal candidate must have a strong track record of ranking websites, improving organic traffic, and working with tools such as ChatGPT, Surfer SEO, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Screaming Frog, and other AI SEO tools — combined with hands-on WordPress development skills (Elementor Pro, Divi, WooCommerce).

This role is for someone who can think strategically, work independently, and deliver measurable results across both SEO performance and website development/maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and execute SEO strategies for multiple websites
• Carry out detailed keyword research and competitor analysis
• Use AI tools to improve content planning, briefs, optimisation, and SEO workflows
• Create SEO-optimised content for websites, blogs, landing pages, service pages, and location pages
• Manage and maintain website content, ensuring pages are accurate, updated, well-structured, and SEO-friendly
• Use AI tools such as ChatGPT to assist with content research, drafting, optimisation, and production
• Optimise website pages for on-page SEO, technical SEO, and conversions
• Create and manage content calendars
• Improve Google rankings, impressions, clicks, and organic leads
• Monitor Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and ranking tools
• Identify technical SEO issues and suggest fixes
• Create monthly SEO reports with clear progress and results
• Research competitors and identify opportunities to outrank them
• Help improve local SEO, Google Business Profile rankings, and service-area pages
• Develop and optimise internal linking strategies
• Identify new content opportunities based on search trends, keywords, competitors, and user intent
• Monitor existing content and update pages to maintain and improve rankings
• Support lead generation and conversion-focused SEO strategies

WordPress Development & Maintenance

• Create and maintain WordPress websites using page builders such as Elementor, Divi, and WooCommerce
• Ensure websites are fully optimized for all devices (desktop, mobile, tablet)
• Optimize website speed to reduce loading times, improving both UX and SEO performance
• Identify and fix bugs or issues to keep websites functioning smoothly
• Set up domain hosting and DNS settings, including domain migrations when necessary
• Configure SSL certificates and implement security measures against malware and threats
• Work with writers, designers, and developers where required

Requirements

• Proven SEO experience with a strong track record
• Proven WordPress development experience with a portfolio showcasing your work
• Please share links to websites you have personally built and/or ranked (SEO and/or WordPress development examples)
• Strong understanding of AI tools and how to use them for SEO and content workflows
• Experience with Google Search Console and Google Analytics
• Good knowledge of on-page SEO, technical SEO, content SEO, and link-building
• Strong content writing and content management skills
• Proficiency in WordPress page builders, including Elementor Pro, Divi, and WooCommerce
• Thorough understanding of responsive web design principles and performance optimization
• Proficiency in domain hosting, DNS setup, and SSL certificate implementation
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Ability to research keywords and create SEO content plans
• Strong written English skills
• Must be reliable, organised, and able to work without constant supervision
• Must be performance-focused and results-driven
• Minimum 2–3 years relevant experience
• Female candidates will be preferred

Preferred Skills

• Experience with UK, USA, or international SEO campaigns
• Local SEO experience; experience ranking service-based business websites
• Knowledge of Ahrefs, SEMrush, Surfer SEO, Screaming Frog, Rank Math, Yoast, and ChatGPT
• Experience using AI for SEO automation and content workflows
• Basic understanding of CRO and lead generation
• Experience with Google Business Profile and local search optimisation
• Understanding of E-E-A-T and modern search engine optimisation practices
