About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on SEO Specialist with proven practical experience and measurable results.

Reporting to the Marketing Director, you will be responsible for generating qualified leads from organic search through our website, affordablewastemanagement.co.uk.

This is a practical role where you will carry out day-to-day SEO work, including technical optimisation, keyword research, content improvements and creating landing pages.

Your performance will be measured primarily by the number and quality of leads generated from organic search, alongside improvements in relevant organic traffic.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement SEO improvements to increase qualified organic traffic and lead generation.
• Conduct keyword research and identify commercial search opportunities across services, sectors and UK locations.
• Carry out technical SEO audits, identify issues and work with developers to resolve them.
• Optimise website structure, service pages, landing pages, metadata and internal linking.
• Write, edit and optimise SEO content based on search intent and business priorities.
• Create and optimise new service, sector and location-specific landing pages.
• Monitor website performance using Google Search Console, GA4 and SEO tools.
• Analyse organic leads, conversion rates, traffic and keyword rankings.
• Identify reasons for traffic or ranking declines and implement improvements.
• Improve existing content to increase relevance, search visibility and conversion rates.
• Use AI tools efficiently, checking facts and editing outputs before use.
• Report SEO performance and organic lead generation results.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Proven hands-on SEO experience with clear examples of your contribution and measurable results.
• Practical experience generating organic traffic and leads through SEO.
• Strong understanding of technical SEO, on-page optimisation, keyword research and internal linking.
• Hands-on proficiency in Google Search Console, GA4 and SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush or Screaming Frog.
• Practical experience with WordPress.
• Good understanding of commercial search intent and conversion-focused content.
• Strong writing, editing and analytical skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and take responsibility for the results of your work.

What We Offer

• £30,000 - £35,000 per year, depending on skills, experience and proven results.
• 20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
• One day per week working from home after successfully completing probation.
• Opportunity to progress to Digital Marketing Manager based on performance.
