Join the team at NIKU X as a Server Assistant and play an essential role in delivering an elevated dining experience within our high-energy, luxury Japanese yakiniku concept. We are seeking hospitality-driven individuals with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for exceptional guest service.

As a Server Assistant, you will support the front-of-house team by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and seamless table service throughout the dining experience. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow within the hospitality industry while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on excellence and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Support servers and captains by bussing and resetting tables promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, service stations, and restaurant equipment throughout service.
• Assist with food running and table maintenance while ensuring all dishes are presented professionally and accurately.
• Refill water, clear plates, and anticipate guest needs to enhance the overall dining experience.
• Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.
• Assist with opening and closing side work duties as assigned by management.
• Uphold all health, sanitation, and food safety standards in accordance with restaurant policies.
• Maintain a polished and professional appearance consistent with NIKU X NYC standards.
• Provide attentive, courteous, and knowledgeable hospitality to every guest.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of restaurant or hospitality experience required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
• Understanding of basic food handling and sanitation practices preferred.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Positive attitude, sense of urgency, and willingness to learn and grow within the company.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move restaurant equipment as needed.

Pay: $11.35 - $17.00 per hour
