Server Assistant - CTZN Solana Beach

At CTZN, Server Assistant supports the flow of service by ensuring dishes are delivered promptly, tables are maintained, and servers have what they need to provide an exceptional guest experience. This hybrid role is essential to CTZN’s tapas-style service, where timing, teamwork, and communication directly impact the guest experience.

This position requires attention to detail, a sense of organization and urgency, and a commitment to teamwork. Server Assistant represent the kitchen at the table, and their professionalism, accuracy, and hospitality contribute significantly to the overall guest impression.

We're looking between 3-4 shifts a week to start.

Responsibilities:

Food running

o Deliver dishes to guests with accuracy and polished presentation

o Clearly describe each dish as instructed by expo, chefs.

o Communicate guest requests, allergies, and issues to servers immediately

o Coordinate with kitchen to ensure correct pacing and timing of tapas-style service

o Handle hot plates and trays safely and efficiently

Server assistant

o Support servers by keeping tables pre-bussed, marked and reset properly.

o Monitor water levels, refills when applicable

o Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room throughout service

o Reset and prepare tables quickly and correctly for the next seating

o Assist with delivering beverages and clearing courses

o Keep service stations stocked and ready at all times (glassware, silverware, plates,

napkins)

Team coordination

o Work closely with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to maintain a smooth

workflow

o Communicate clearly about table status, guest needs and timing of dishes.

o Support the ethos of a fully unified FOH team – no silos, no division, teamwork and

great communication.

o Help resolve guest needs immediately when approached without deferring

responsibility

Operational support

o Assist with opening and closing duties when necessary, including setting up stations,

polishing glassware, silverware, and maintaining cleanliness.

o Follow all safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.

Pay: $16.90 per hour
