Duties

• Greet guests warmly as a host/hostess and manage reservations using OpenTable or similar systems to optimize seating flow.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately using POS systems like Toast POS, ensuring prompt processing of sales transactions.
• Prepare and serve beverages including cocktails, spirits, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks with expertise in drink service standards.
• Provide attentive table service by delivering food promptly as a food runner and bussing tables efficiently to maintain cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
• Assist bartenders with drink preparation when needed, supporting bar operations during busy periods.
• Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining proper cash handling procedures; process payments swiftly and securely.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards by adhering to proper food handling practices and sanitation protocols throughout your shift.
• Support guest relations by addressing inquiries professionally, upselling menu items to enhance sales opportunities, and ensuring a welcoming environment.
• Collaborate with team members across roles to deliver seamless service in a fast-paced restaurant setting that values hospitality excellence.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred; experience in fine dining or high-volume settings is a plus.
• Demonstrated skills in POS systems such as Toast POS; familiarity with OpenTable for reservations management is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of beverage service including spirits, wine knowledge, cocktail preparation, and drink presentation.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently.
• Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately and managing cash handling procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
• Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed in a lively hospitality setting.
