Position: Server / Waitress

Location: Prairie House Food & Spirits

Position Summary

Prairie House Food & Spirits is looking for friendly, dependable, and hardworking servers to join our team. Our servers are responsible for providing excellent guest service, taking accurate orders, serving food and beverages, maintaining a clean and welcoming dining area, and helping create a positive experience for every guest.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and warmly.
• Provide guests with menus and explain specials, promotions, and menu items.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders.
• Enter orders correctly into the POS system.
• Serve food and beverages in a timely and professional manner.
• Check on tables throughout the meal and respond to guest needs.
• Handle guest questions, concerns, and requests professionally.
• Maintain clean and organized tables, dining areas, and server stations.
• Complete daily cleaning and side work assignments.
• Keep dining areas stocked and ready for the next shift.
• Roll silverware and complete other assigned prep work.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service requirements.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, hosts, and management.
• Accurately handle cash, credit card payments, and guest checks.
• Help fellow team members when needed and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Follow all Prairie House Food & Spirits policies and service expectations.

Scheduling & Availability

• Must be available to work a combination of mornings, evenings, weekdays, and weekends.
• Rotating weekends are required.
• Servers should be prepared to work through closing responsibilities when scheduled for a closing shift.
• Current closing times:
• Monday–Thursday: 9:00 PM
• Friday–Saturday: 10:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:00 PM
• Closing shifts may require employees to stay after the posted closing time to complete cleaning, side work, and closing duties.

Qualifications

• Previous serving experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
• Friendly and positive attitude.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry food trays and other items safely.
• Must be willing to follow cleaning, stocking, and service standards consistently.
