Server

Elsie’s on The Commons is a newrestaurant in Little Compton, Rhode Island, focused on warm hospitality, quality food, and a welcoming coastal New England atmosphere. We are looking for friendly, dependable, and service-oriented Servers to join our front-of-house team.

Servers at Elsie’s will play an important role in creating a positive guest experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in great service, and can help create a welcoming, relaxed, and professional environment for locals, families, visitors, and regular guests.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the POS system
• Answer questions about the menu, daily specials, coffee, beer, wine, and other offerings
• Deliver food and beverages in a timely and professional manner
• Check in with guests during their meal and respond to requests promptly
• Handle guest payments accurately and professionally
• Assist with setting, clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, service areas, coffee station, bar/service counter, and server stations
• Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties
• Communicate clearly with kitchen, bar, and management teams
• Support takeout, counter service, coffee service, and other guest needs as required
• Follow food safety, alcohol service, and sanitation standards
• Help create a positive team culture built on hospitality, respect, and accountability

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, café, bar, or customer service experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with a team
• Ability to stay organized and calm during busy service periods
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Comfortable using or learning a POS system (Toast)
• Ability to stand for extended periods and carry trays, plates, and service items
• Alcohol service certification preferred or willingness to obtain, if applicable

Compensation

• Competitive tipped hourly wage based on experience.

Schedule

Full-time and part-time positions available. Morning, daytime, weekend, and holiday availability may be required.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
