Position Summary

Servers are responsible for providing attentive, knowledgeable, and efficient service while helping maximize guest satisfaction and restaurant sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet tables promptly and create a welcoming experience.
• Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders.
• Maintain strong knowledge of the food and beverage menu.
• Recommend appetizers, entrées, beverages, desserts, and specials.
• Check tables throughout the dining experience without making guests feel rushed.
• Deliver food and beverages accurately and promptly.
• Verify identification when serving alcoholic beverages.
• Follow responsible alcohol-service requirements.
• Process cash, credit-card, and POS transactions accurately.
• Communicate special requests and allergies to appropriate team members.
• Pre-bus and reset tables.
• Complete assigned opening, running, and closing side work.
• Maintain clean and organized service stations.
• Work cooperatively with bartenders, hosts, cooks, barbacks, and management.
• Assist with private parties, special events, and promotional activities.
• Follow all sanitation, food-safety, workplace-safety, and company policies.

Qualifications

Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not required for strong candidates. Applicants should possess excellent communication and customer-service skills, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and maintain reliable attendance. Required food-handler and alcohol-service certifications must be maintained when applicable.

Performance Expectations

Servers will be evaluated on guest satisfaction, sales performance, order accuracy, speed of service, menu knowledge, attendance, teamwork, cleanliness, side-work completion, and adherence to The Coop's service standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $2.15 - $5.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
