Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and guide them to their tables with a friendly, professional demeanor
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring timely processing of sales transactions
• Provide expert recommendations on menu items, including wine, spirits, cocktails, and food pairings to enhance guest satisfaction through upselling techniques like OpenTable reservations and suggestive selling
• Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation, sanitation, and safety in accordance with food handling and food safety protocols
• Process cash and credit card transactions accurately, handle cash handling responsibilities, and manage check settlements with precision
• Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service stations through bussing and sanitation practices while supporting kitchen staff with basic food preparation when needed
• Foster positive guest relations by addressing inquiries promptly, resolving concerns professionally, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all guests

Experience

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred; fine dining or nightclub experience is a plus
• Demonstrated proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, Toast POS; familiarity with OpenTable for reservations is advantageous
• Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques including drink presentation and bartending skills
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours while maintaining attention to detail
• Proven ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities
• Solid understanding of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling practices
• Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest relations, math accuracy for processing transactions, and teamwork within a hospitality setting
