Experienced Server – Japanese Sushi Restaurant

We are seeking an experienced, professional, and enthusiastic Server to join our team at a Japanese sushi restaurant. The ideal candidate has a strong background in full-service dining, excellent knowledge of hospitality standards, and the ability to provide attentive, polished service in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Our Servers are an essential part of creating an exceptional guest experience. You will be responsible for providing knowledgeable and attentive service, accurately entering orders, communicating effectively with the kitchen and sushi bar, and ensuring every guest feels welcomed and well cared for.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional, friendly, and attentive service throughout the guest experience.
• Demonstrate knowledge of sushi, Japanese cuisine, ingredients, and menu offerings.
• Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the TOAST POS system.
• Previous TOAST POS experience is strongly preferred.
• Ensure all orders are entered accurately and communicated clearly to the kitchen and sushi bar.
• Take all food allergies and dietary restrictions seriously, following proper allergy-management procedures and clearly communicating concerns to the kitchen.
• Understand and follow procedures designed to prevent allergen cross-contact.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene.
• Verify food presentation, accuracy, and quality before serving dishes to guests.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and professionally to questions, requests, and concerns.
• Work closely with sushi chefs, kitchen staff, hosts, bartenders, and other servers to ensure smooth service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment.
• Handle high-volume service efficiently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Follow all restaurant policies and procedures regarding guest safety, food handling, sanitation, and service standards.

Qualifications

• Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant is required.
• Japanese or sushi restaurant experience is strongly preferred.
• TOAST POS experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sushi, and common food allergens is a plus.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to confidently explain menu items, ingredients, and potential allergens.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when taking and entering orders.
• Ability to work efficiently and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual, professional, and team-oriented.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.

Pay: From $18.42 per hour
