Job Overview

Duties

• Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are accommodated
• Serve food and drinks promptly and efficiently, maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
• Upsell menu items to maximise guest satisfaction and revenue opportunities
• Handle payments accurately using the point-of-sale system and provide correct change
• Maintain cleanliness of tables, service stations, and dining areas in accordance with food safety standards
• Assist in food preparation or organisation as needed, supporting kitchen staff during busy periods
• Ensure guest needs are met promptly, addressing any concerns or special requests with professionalism
• Follow all health and safety regulations, including food safety procedures and hygiene protocols

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is essential; a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are key
• Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques is desirable
• Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities to handle multiple tables efficiently
• Good communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members
• Basic maths skills for handling bills, payments, and transactions accurately
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly demeanour
• Experience with upselling menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales is beneficial
• Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends as required
