Job Summary

We are looking for an energetic, professional, and dependable Server to join our hospitality team. Our servers play a critical role in creating an outstanding guest experience from the moment guests arrive until they leave.

We are looking for individuals who genuinely enjoy hospitality, take pride in their work, communicate well with both guests and coworkers, and can remain professional and organized in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

The ideal candidate is friendly, attentive, reliable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a high-volume environment. You should be able to manage multiple tables, prioritize tasks, accurately handle guest checks and payments, and maintain a positive attitude even during busy shifts.

This position requires someone who understands that excellent service involves much more than simply taking orders. Our servers are expected to be knowledgeable about our food and beverage offerings, maintain clean and organized work areas, follow company procedures, and consistently provide professional service.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Service

• Greet and acknowledge guests promptly with a friendly, professional, and welcoming attitude.
• Provide attentive and personalized service throughout the guest's entire visit.
• Present menus, explain specials, answer questions, and make knowledgeable recommendations.
• Accurately take food and beverage orders while paying close attention to modifications, allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests.
• Check on guests regularly and anticipate their needs without being intrusive.
• Ensure food and beverages are delivered accurately, promptly, and according to established service standards.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude when handling guest concerns or complaints.
• Communicate guest concerns to management when necessary and work toward an appropriate resolution.

Food & Beverage Knowledge

• Maintain a thorough knowledge of all food and beverage menu items.
• Understand ingredients, preparation methods, portion information, and common allergens.
• Be knowledgeable about cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and other beverage offerings.
• Be able to describe menu items and make appropriate recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Stay informed about menu changes, daily specials, unavailable items, and promotional offerings.
• Follow all company policies and legal requirements regarding responsible alcohol service.
• Never serve alcohol to a guest after being instructed by management to stop service.
• Immediately notify a manager when there is a concern regarding a guest's level of intoxication or ability to safely consume additional alcohol.

POS & Cash Handling

• Accurately enter all food and beverage orders into the POS system.
• Use systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar restaurant POS platforms.
• Ensure all food and beverage items are properly entered and charged to the correct guest check.
• Follow all procedures regarding transfers, discounts, voids, comps, and check adjustments.
• Accurately process cash and credit card transactions.
• Maintain proper control of cash and assigned payment methods throughout the shift.
• Never provide complimentary food or beverages, discounts, or other adjustments without proper authorization.
• Follow all company procedures regarding employee numbers, check ownership, and POS usage.

Side Work, Cleanliness & Organization

• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked service station throughout the shift.
• Complete all assigned opening, running, and closing side work.
• Properly set and reset tables as required.
• Assist with bussing, cleaning, stocking, and maintaining dining and service areas.
• Keep work areas, equipment, and service stations clean and sanitary.
• Restock necessary supplies throughout the shift so the team is prepared for service.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities rather than waiting for management or coworkers to complete them.

Teamwork & Communication

• Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, hosts, bussers, managers, and other servers to provide a smooth guest experience.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with coworkers and management.
• Assist team members when your section is under control and help maintain overall restaurant operations.
• Maintain a professional attitude during high-volume and stressful periods.
• Follow directions from management and communicate promptly when an issue affects guest service or restaurant operations.

Attendance & Professional Expectations

Reliability and accountability are essential requirements of this position.

Successful servers are expected to:

• Arrive on time and ready to work at the beginning of every scheduled shift.
• Follow the posted work schedule and communicate availability and scheduling conflicts appropriately.
• Follow established call-out and absence procedures.
• Maintain a professional appearance and follow all uniform and grooming standards.
• Remain productive throughout the entire shift.
• Complete assigned duties and side work before leaving the restaurant.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and management instructions.
• Treat guests, coworkers, and management with professionalism and respect.
• Accept coaching and direction and make reasonable efforts to improve performance when concerns are addressed.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is strongly preferred.
• Fine dining, high-volume restaurant, bar, or nightclub experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service.
• Knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine is preferred.
• Experience with Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar systems is preferred.
• OpenTable or other reservation-system experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to accurately handle cash, credit cards, checks, and POS transactions.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently while managing multiple tables and competing priorities.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy, high-volume environment.
• Must be comfortable working nights, weekends, holidays, and other high-volume service periods.
• Must be able to meet all applicable legal requirements for serving alcohol.

Schedule
