Job Summary

Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, acting as a welcoming host or hostess when needed
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring special requests are noted clearly
• Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation quality and adherence to food safety standards
• Process sales transactions efficiently, including cash handling, credit card processing, and upselling additional menu items to enhance guest experience
• Provide expert beverage service, including cocktail mixing, wine recommendations based on guest preferences, and spirits knowledge
• Maintain cleanliness of tables, bar area, and service stations through bussing and sanitation practices
• Engage with guests to promote specials or upsell menu items using effective sales techniques like OpenTable reservations or suggestive selling strategies

Requirements

• Proven experience in food service or restaurant roles, including fine dining experience preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms for order entry and sales processing
• Strong knowledge of beverage service including cocktails, spirits, wine varieties, and drink presentation
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and ability to handle guest relations professionally
• Ability to manage multiple tables efficiently through effective time management and organizational skills
• Basic math skills for processing cash transactions accurately and calculating bills or tips
• Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
• Previous experience as a server or host/hostess in a fast-paced restaurant environment is highly desirable
