JOB PURPOSE:

Provides residents and guests with proper table service. Has knowledge of menu items. Performs side duties as directed. Ensures residents and guests are treated with respect and courtesy at all times.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Tenth grade education. One-year previous wait experience preferred. Must possess or be able to obtain a Maricopa County food service worker card. Must have effective communication and organizational skills. Ability to maintain multiple tasks simultaneously. Must read and write English legibly. Computer experience in POS systems preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implements proper table service according to departmental policies and procedures.

Takes orders for meals properly and is responsible for accurately recording orders in POS system.

Assumes responsibility for checking platter before serving to ensure items ordered, portion size and

attractiveness of serving.

Assumes responsibility for serving soups that are hot, salads that are fresh and crisp, desserts that are

positioned properly and appealing; makes sure crackers and butter are on the table.

Assumes responsibility for serving hot bread at the beginning of the dinner meal; rolls are served as

requested at the lunch meal.

Facilitates high quality coffee and beverage services especially at beginning of meal, upon serving entree

and serving dessert.

Enters beverage orders into the POS system as trained.

Assumes responsibility for having residents sign their meal ticket before they leave the dining room; turns

all tickets in at the end of the shift.

Possesses knowledge of basic menu items and refers any dietary concerns to director of food services.

Clears tables according to directions and resets tables as trained.

Delivers room service in a timely manner.

Completes side work duties as assigned by dining room manager or designee.

Assists other dining room employees as necessary to promote team work and better service.

Observes cleanliness of dining room areas on a day-to-day basis and reports any major cleaning and

needed repairs to the dining room manager.

Maintains proper appearance of uniforms at all times.

Responsible for properly washing hands as trained before starting each new task; wears gloves as trained.

Ensures cleanliness of all areas according to standards set by the Maricopa County Health Department.

Participates in maintaining written procedures for all departmental job functions.

Possesses ability to lift and carry trays weighing up to 25 lbs.

Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours per shift.

Annually reviews company policies.

Annually reviews department training video(s).

Safeguards self, residents and fellow employees through safe work practices.
