Job Overview

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to create a welcoming atmosphere
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff
• Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards and attention to detail
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations to upsell menu items and enhance the guest experience
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while balancing registers at shift end
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations during busy hours, including supporting food preparation and food handling as needed

Skills

• Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs or upscale restaurants
• Familiarity with POS systems like Toast for order processing and sales tracking
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build guest relations and handle guest inquiries professionally
• Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume service periods
• Ability to upsell menu items confidently to increase sales opportunities
• Previous experience in host/hostess roles or serving positions is highly desirable
• Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and inventory management
