Position Overview

We are looking for a enthusiastic, professional, and reliable Server to join our front-of-house team. As a Server at 1772 Rooftop, you will be the face of our restaurant—guiding guests through our menu, seasonal cocktails, and handcrafted drinks, while providing attentive and welcoming service in a high-energy rooftop setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Menu Knowledge: Develop a thorough understanding of our food menu, seasonal cocktails, wine list, and local draft beers to make thoughtful recommendations.
• Order Management & POS Operation: Accurately enter food and beverage orders into the POS system (our restaurant utilizes Clover!), manage table pacing, and handle guest payments (cash and card processing).
• Table Service & Maintenance: Pre-bus tables continuously, deliver food and drinks promptly, ensure proper table maintenance, and assist with clearing/wiping down tables for quick turnarounds.
• Side Work & Operations: Complete opening and closing duties (polishing and stocking glassware, polishing and rolling cutlery, maintaining side stations (both on the roof and downstairs at the host stand), and keeping dining areas tidy, including floors, tables, and expo station).
• Safety & Compliance: Verify age identity for alcohol service in accordance with Virginia ABC laws (you must be 18 years old to run alcohol to tables and 21 to pour alcohol) and practice proper food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Prior serving or hospitality experience preferred, however, our staff is fully equipped to train new hires with no previous serving experience!
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work peak hours, including Wednesday–Saturday evenings and special private events.
• Must meet state minimum age requirements to serve alcoholic beverages in Virginia (18 years old).
