Lead Server – CityWalk Eatery

CityWalk Eatery is seeking an experienced, dependable, and guest-focused Lead Server to join our Front of House team. The Lead Server will provide excellent table service while also helping guide the serving team throughout each shift and supporting smooth restaurant operations.

The hourly wage listed for this position reflects hourly wage + average tips. Actual earnings may vary based on business volume, shifts worked, and gratuities received.

Position Responsibilities

As a Lead Server at CityWalk Eatery, responsibilities include:

• Providing friendly, attentive, and professional service to guests
• Taking accurate food and beverage orders and entering them into the POS system
• Maintaining strong knowledge of menu items, specials, beverages, and restaurant policies
• Checking on guests throughout their dining experience and responding promptly to requests
• Processing guest payments accurately
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout assigned sections
• Supporting servers during busy periods and helping maintain efficient dining room operations
• Assisting with training and providing guidance to newer servers
• Communicating guest concerns, staffing issues, and operational needs to management
• Helping ensure service standards are consistently followed throughout the shift
• Working closely with hosts, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to provide a positive guest experience

Lead & Closing Responsibilities

In addition to regular serving responsibilities, the Lead Server will take on additional leadership and end-of-shift duties.

These responsibilities include:

• Helping coordinate the serving team during assigned shifts
• Assigning closing tasks and side work to servers at the end of the night
• Verifying that assigned closing duties have been completed properly before servers leave
• Helping ensure server stations, dining areas, and service areas are cleaned, stocked, and prepared for the next business day
• Collecting and processing servers’ cash payments and cash owed to the restaurant at the end of the night
• Verifying server checkout information and communicating discrepancies to management
• Assisting with end-of-night paperwork and closing procedures as assigned
• Helping maintain accountability and organization among the serving team
• Communicating any unresolved guest, staffing, or operational concerns to management before the end of the shift

Because the Lead Server is trusted with leadership responsibilities and server cash payments, accuracy, dependability, professionalism, and attention to detail are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Previous serving experience required
• Previous lead, shift lead, or restaurant leadership experience preferred
• Strong guest service and communication skills
• Comfortable providing direction and holding team members accountable for assigned duties
• Strong cash-handling and basic math skills
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Dependable, punctual, and professional
• Ability to work effectively with both team members and management
• Comfortable handling guest concerns professionally
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods throughout a shift
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
