Server – Japanese Hokkaido Ramen Restaurant

Baikohken Ramen – Hillcrest, San Diego

We are looking for a friendly, energetic, reliable, and hardworking Server to join our team at Baikohken, a traditional Japanese Hokkaido ramen restaurant in Hillcrest.

Position

Server – Part-Time

Pay

$17.75 per hour + tips

Schedule

* Part-time position

* Available to work at least 2 shifts per week

* Lunch and/or dinner availability

* Additional shifts may be available depending on business needs and availability

Responsibilities

* Provide friendly and attentive service to our guests

* Take food and drink orders

* Serve food and drinks

* Answer customer questions about our ramen and Japanese dishes

* Keep tables and the dining area clean and organized

* Help with simple plating and preparation of side dishes when needed

* Assist with dishwashing and other basic restaurant duties when needed

* Follow restaurant procedures and house rules

* Work as part of a team to provide a great guest experience

This is a team-oriented position. Although your main responsibility is serving, everyone is expected to help where needed, especially during busy periods.

Requirements

* Friendly, positive, and energetic personality

* Reliable and punctual

* Able to follow schedules and restaurant policies

* Able to communicate schedule changes, time-off requests, or early departure requests as far in advance as possible

* Previous restaurant or server experience is preferred, but not required

* No specific age requirement

* Interest in Japanese food and culture is a plus

* Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment

* Able to work well with other team members

* Able to commute to Hillcrest by car, bus, bicycle, or walking

* Able to work at least 2 shifts per week

Training

New team members will receive approximately two weeks of training, depending on experience and progress.

The training period may be shorter if you demonstrate that you are ready to work independently.

All training time is paid according to applicable California and San Diego wage laws. Tip eligibility during training will follow the restaurant’s applicable tip policy and California law.
