Server

New York Times Top 50 restaurant, Big Cat, is expanding fast and looking for an experienced, hospitality-driven server who is passionate about their team and creating guest experiences.

Servers are responsible for executing daily events and floor preparation, maintaining an in-depth knowledge of our food and beverage menus, and coordinating a seamless dining experience with the entire team. Our menu updates with seasonal changes, so we are looking for someone who shares our passion for keeping everything new and fun while also educating oneself on the dietary changes for the health and safety of our guests. Servers also uphold the basic tenets of our values through a love of hospitality conveyed through positive communication, professionalism, and guest experiences.

• Motivate and engage each other through fair treatment, creating a positive atmosphere, and instilling pride.
• Attend regular staff meetings for continued training on steps of service, food & beverage updates, and guest notes for the night.

SERVICE

• Keep up to date with service notes and any special events pertinent to the day.
• Celebrate positive feedback from colleagues, guests, and diners.
• Keep open lines of communication with the host, bar staff, and kitchen to ensure a successful and synchronized service.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor that aligns with the Big Cat image.
• Maintain restaurant cleanliness during service and run through cleaning procedures during the opening and closing of the restaurant.
• Proficiency with Toast POS systems to process orders, handle cash transactions, and direct coursing flow for guest dining experience.
• Children are a big part of the surrounding community, and maintaining a positive, kid-friendly attitude during service is a key goal of our hospitality experience.
• Execute tableside service in an attentive and anticipatory manner by focusing on the smaller details and enhancing all experiences, from birthdays and anniversaries to first-time or returning experiences.
• Possess extensive menu knowledge through daily line-ups, noting food/drink presentation, allergens, ingredients, and preparation to make recommendations or substitutions.
• Have pride in the quality and thoughtfulness of the menu and service we give

HEALTH, SAFETY & PROTOCOLS

• Minimize risk, ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies and procedures, food safety, responsible service of alcohol, and employment legislation
• Ensure a safe and positive working environment at all times
• De-escalate complaints with a hospitable attitude, but if complaints escalate, seek Service Manager or GM to de-escalate or act as a mediator if necessary
• Adhere to SOPs to maintain a safe and healthy restaurant

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
