Position Overview

Servers at Asbury Ale House play a key role in delivering a high-quality guest experience in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment. This position is responsible for providing attentive and professional food and beverage service while maintaining strong product knowledge, operational efficiency, and a guest-first mindset. Servers act as brand ambassadors for the Ale House by creating a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring accurate order execution, and contributing to overall guest satisfaction and repeat visitation.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service

• Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service to all guests throughout the dining experience.
• Greet guests promptly, present menus, and guide them through food and beverage selections.
• Deliver food and beverages accurately and efficiently while ensuring quality presentation.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond quickly to requests to maintain a positive dining experience.
• Handle guest concerns or complaints professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.

Food & Beverage Knowledge

• Maintain strong knowledge of the food menu, daily specials, and beverage program including beer, wine, and cocktails.
• Make recommendations to guests and upsell menu items, beverages, and add-ons to enhance the dining experience and increase check averages.
• Communicate menu details such as ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.

Operational Efficiency

• Accurately enter orders into the POS system and ensure proper communication with kitchen and bar staff.
• Monitor table sections to ensure timely service, order accuracy, and table turnover.
• Deliver checks and process payments efficiently while following company cash-handling procedures.
• Assist with opening and closing side work including table setup, cleaning, stocking, and station preparation.

Team Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with bartenders, hosts, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service operations.
• Support teammates during peak service periods to maintain overall service quality.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and product knowledge programs.

Compliance & Safety

• Follow all alcohol service regulations and check valid identification when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all service areas.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Must meet legal age requirements for alcohol service in New Jersey.
• Must obtain an Asbury Park ABC card within two weeks of hire date
• Must have weekend availability including Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
• Ability to carry trays and lift items up to around 25 pounds.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required in the hospitality industry.

Asbury Ale House is a high-energy restaurant and nightlife venue in Asbury Park. The environment is fast-paced and guest-focused, requiring strong teamwork, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering memorable hospitality experiences.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
