Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Server to join our vibrant hospitality team at the Historic Sportsman Inn. In this role, you will be the face of our restaurant, delivering exceptional guest experiences through attentive service, expert beverage and food knowledge, and a lively, positive attitude. Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide prompt, friendly seating assistance as a host/hostess if needed
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS system CAKE, ensuring all special requests are noted clearly
• Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
• Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to enhance guest experience and increase sales
• Process cash and credit card transactions accurately, including handling cash handling responsibilities and managing sales transactions with POS system CAKE
• Maintain knowledge of wine pairings, spirits, cocktail recipes, and food safety standards to provide expert recommendations
• Assist with bussing tables, cleaning work areas, and supporting kitchen staff with basic food handling or prep tasks when necessary
• Engage with guests to foster positive relations, address inquiries or concerns promptly, and ensure overall guest satisfaction

Requirements

• Great can-do attitude
• Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments; fine dining or nightclub experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of POS systems; familiarity with OpenTable for reservations is advantageous
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently with effective time management skills
• Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and managing bills confidently
• Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service standards
• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain required sanitation certifications
• Previous experience in food industry roles such as serving, bartending, bussing, or cashiering is highly valued
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $2.25 per hour
