Job Overview

Horizons at Summers Corner is seeking a Server who excels in a guest-focused, hospitality-driven environment. This role supports both dining room service and bar operations.

Pay: $12 per hour plus 18% automatic gratuity and additional tips.

Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday

Key Responsibilities:

• Warmly greet guests upon arrival and provide knowledgeable guidance on daily specials and menu items.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, deliver items promptly, and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and complete opening/closing side duties each shift.
• Participate in pre-shift meetings and tastings to stay informed on menu updates.
• Handle payments, process transactions through the POS/Club Essentials system, and follow all established service procedures.
• Practice proper tray service and uphold standards for greeting, cocktail service, and food delivery.
• Work in both server and bartender capacities as needed.
• Use safe work practices
• Maintain consistent, reliable attendance and assist with additional tasks as needed.

Requirements:

• At least one year of consistent experience in a similar role.
• Alcohol Awareness certifications.
• Must meet South Carolina's legal age requirement for serving alcohol (18+).
• POS knowledge; bilingual ability preferred but not required.
• Take customer orders accurately using POS systems
• Process payments through cash handling and credit card transactions
• Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation
• Maintain cleanliness by bussing tables, cleaning workstations, and adhering to sanitation standards
• Upsell menu items to enhance sales and improve customer experience
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service
• Support kitchen staff with food handling and basic culinary tasks when required
• Ensure all food safety protocols are followed consistently

• Pay: $12 per hour plus tips

Experience

• Previous experience in food service, quick service, or fast-food restaurant preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
• Experience in cashiering, food handling, and customer service is highly desirable
• Knowledge of sanitation practices and food safety regulations is beneficial
• Restaurant experience or work in the food industry will be advantageous for understanding service flow and customer expectations

This role requires excellent time management skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment. Prior experience in retail or grocery stores involving math and customer interaction can be an asset. Candidates should be committed to providing outstanding service while maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
