Job Summary

Junior's Restaurant & Bakery is seeking a friendly, attentive, and customer-focused Server to join its restaurant team in New York City. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, communicates clearly, and can deliver prompt, welcoming service in a busy dining environment. This role involves assisting guests with menu selections, accurately handling orders, and working closely with kitchen staff to ensure a positive dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide attentive, courteous service throughout their visit.
• Present menus, explain dishes, and answer questions about food and beverages.
• Take accurate orders and enter them into the restaurant's point-of-sale system.
• Serve food and drinks promptly while checking order accuracy.
• Recommend menu items, desserts, and beverages based on guest preferences.
• Monitor tables and respond promptly to additional requests.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff and food runners to ensure smooth service.
• Process payments accurately and handle bills according to restaurant procedures.
• Maintain clean, organized tables and dining areas.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and responsible service policies.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant serving experience is preferred; entry-level applicants with strong customer service skills may be considered.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced restaurant.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems.
• Strong teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Availability for weekend, evening, and holiday shifts as scheduled.

Duties

• Prepare tables and service stations before each shift.
• Check orders for accuracy and presentation before serving.
• Keep dining areas clean and ready for incoming guests.
• Communicate special requests and dietary concerns to the kitchen.
• Assist coworkers during busy service periods.
• Complete assigned opening, closing, and side-work duties.
