Calma · Cocina · Mar · Agave is an upscale Mexican coastal restaurant on Los Feliz Blvd. We cook over fire and pull from the sea: raw bar crudos, ceviche and aguachile, Osetra caviar on blue-corn tostadas, whole crispy snapper, zarandeado lobster, and prime carne asada. Our bar centers on tequila and mezcal. We want a team that is warm, sharp, and proud of good hospitality.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a Server who gives guests polished, warm service and knows the menu well. You'll walk guests through a menu built for sharing: raw bar, aguachile, tableside guacamole, whole fish, and prime cuts, along with our agave and wine lists.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet guests warmly and give attentive, well-paced service from start to finish

• Know the menu in depth, including ingredients, preparations, allergens, and dietary options

• Guide guests through shared plates, raw bar, caviar, whole fish for the table, and prime steaks

• Suggest tequila, mezcal, cocktails, and wine, and pair them with dishes

• Enter orders accurately and communicate clearly with the kitchen and bar

• Coordinate tableside moments, such as guacamole service, with the support team

• Check IDs and serve alcohol responsibly

• Process payments accurately. Help with opening, closing, and side work

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of serving experience, ideally in upscale or fine-dining restaurants

• Strong communication skills and a guest-first attitude

• California RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) certification, required for alcohol service. Must be completed within 60 days of hire if you don't already have it

• California Food Handler Card (or able to get one within 30 days of hire)

• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Able to stand and walk for long shifts

NICE TO HAVE

• Knowledge of wine and agave spirits (tequila and mezcal)

• Experience with seafood, raw bar, or caviar service

• Experience with upscale or tableside service

• Bilingual Spanish/English

Job Type: Full-time and part-time positions available

Schedule: Calma is open Tuesday–Thursday 3 PM–11 PM, Friday 3 PM–12 AM, Saturday 11 AM–12 AM (brunch from 11 AM), and Sunday 11 AM–10 PM (brunch from 11 AM); closed Monday. Shifts include evenings, weekends, and weekend brunch.
