About the role

Akari Ramen Indonesia is seeking an enthusiastic and professional Server to join our welcoming team in Denpasar, Bali. This is a full-time position based at our restaurant location. As a Server, you will be the face of our establishment, delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable dining experiences for our guests. This role is fundamental to our restaurant's success, as you will be responsible for ensuring every customer interaction reflects our commitment to quality service and hospitality excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and seating them in accordance with restaurant capacity and section assignments
• Presenting menus promptly and providing knowledgeable recommendations about our sushi and ramen menus, beverages and specials
• Taking accurate food and beverage orders whilst ensuring all special requests and dietary requirements are clearly communicated to kitchen staff
• Delivering food and beverages to tables in a timely and professional manner, ensuring plates are presented correctly and orders match customer requests
• Checking in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns or additional requests
• Processing payments accurately using the point-of-sale system and handling cash or card transactions with integrity
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, including table setup, clearing and resetting between services
• Assisting with opening and closing duties, including restocking supplies and preparing the restaurant for service
• Supporting kitchen and bar staff as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations
• Adhering to health and safety standards and maintaining high personal hygiene standards at all times

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a server or waiting staff role within a restaurant or hospitality establishment
• Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for creating positive guest experiences
• Strong communication abilities in English; fluency in Indonesian and Balinese languages is highly advantageous
• Ability to remain calm, courteous and professional in a fast-paced dining environment
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tables and requests simultaneously
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards and etiquette
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and carry trays safely
• Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to our restaurant's systems and procedures
• Experience working in an Asian cuisine restaurant or ramen establishment is preferred but not essential
