Job Summary

The Whitehall Restaurant & Bar is looking for a friendly, attentive, and customer-focused Server to join its hospitality team. The successful candidate will take food and drink orders, provide efficient table service, respond to customer requests, and help create a welcoming dining experience while maintaining high service standards.

Job Description

• Welcome guests warmly and assist with seating where required.
• Present menus and explain dishes, ingredients, and available options.
• Take food and drink orders accurately and communicate them to the kitchen and bar teams.
• Serve meals and beverages promptly and professionally.
• Check orders before serving to ensure accuracy.
• Answer customer questions about menu items and dietary requirements.
• Communicate allergy information and special requests clearly to relevant team members.
• Keep tables clean, tidy, and ready for incoming guests.
• Set tables and replenish cutlery, napkins, and other service supplies.
• Process customer bills and payments when required.
• Respond to customer feedback and concerns politely.
• Coordinate with colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Follow food hygiene, health, and safety procedures.
• Assist with opening, closing, and general restaurant duties.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is an advantage but not essential.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Friendly, professional, and approachable manner.
• Good attention to detail when taking and serving orders.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy restaurant environment.
• Strong teamwork and organisational skills.
• Willingness to learn the menu and restaurant service standards.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Ability to remain calm during busy service periods.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays where required.

Pay: £16.00-£23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 33.0 per week
