Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and attentive Server to join our dynamic hospitality team at the Goldmoor Inn. In this role, you will be the face of our restaurant, delivering exceptional guest experiences through friendly service, expert beverage and food knowledge, and efficient handling of transactions. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will ensure guests feel welcomed, valued, and satisfied from the moment they arrive until their departure. Duties

• Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their visit
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable
• Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
• Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to enhance guest satisfaction and sales
• Process cash and credit card transactions efficiently, ensuring accuracy in sales transactions processing
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all service areas including tables, bar, and serving stations
• Assist with food handling, bussing tables, setting up dining areas, and supporting kitchen staff when needed
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail recipes, and food safety protocols to educate guests and enhance their experience
• Manage guest relations by addressing inquiries or concerns promptly with a positive attitude
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service flow during busy hours

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments; fine dining or nightclub experience is a plus
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable for order entry and sales processing
• Strong knowledge of beverage service including cocktails, spirits, wine knowledge, and drink presentation techniques
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor
• Ability to multitask efficiently while managing time effectively in a fast-paced setting
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
• Culinary experience or food preparation knowledge is advantageous
• Understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices in the food industry
• Previous host/hostess or bussing experience helpful but not required; hospitality background preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
