Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly, present menus, and answer questions about food, beverages, and specials with enthusiasm.
• Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely processing of sales transactions.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation.
• Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and desserts to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
• Manage cash handling duties accurately, process payments securely, and provide correct change or receipts.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all service areas, including bussing tables and resetting for new guests.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure food safety protocols are followed during food handling and preparation.
• Use OpenTable or similar reservation systems to manage guest seating efficiently during busy hours.
• Engage with guests to foster positive relations, handle special requests professionally, and resolve any concerns promptly.
• Assist with food preparation or bar setup as needed to support smooth restaurant operations.

Qualifications

• Previous food service experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly preferred; fine dining or nightclub experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability in beverage service including cocktail mixing, wine knowledge, spirits experience, and drink presentation.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and the ability to build guest rapport.
• Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables or bar stations efficiently during peak hours.
• Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately and handling cash responsibly.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment.
• Culinary experience or kitchen familiarity can be beneficial but is not required; a passion for the food industry is essential.

Pay: $23.62 - $28.44 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
